You sleep in a bed with a pillow 365 days year but more often than not, you probably don’t pack a pillow with your camping gear, right? Why not? I’ve made the same mistake and end up using a bunched up shirt or a duffel bag covered
with some clothes. It doesn’t have to be this way. There are options. The Grand Trunk Travel Pillow, Wenzel Pillow 12″ x 20″ Omega II Poly, and the Chinook Down Pillow are all great options to add to your camping gear. Check them out and if none of these options suit you, pack your own pillow from home with your camping gear. You won’t regret it and you will enjoy a better night’s sleep and have more fun camping each day. You will wake up more refreshed and ready to go.
Most people use outdoor gas grills to cook hot dogs, brats, hamburgers or steaks. But you can also use your outdoor grill to make scrammbled eggs… not in a frying pan but in a bag. and they are excellent. You save time at the campsite and most importantly, you don’t end up with a big mess that needs cleaning. Here’s what you do.
Before you even leave your home, make enough scrambled eggs and bacon on your stove for all of the people that are going to be eating the eggs when you get to your camp site. Store the eggs and bacon in a large Tupperware bowl or a zip lock bag and put it in the refrigerator or cooler. Bring some green peppers, mushrooms, onions, and tomatoes to dice up when you get to the camp site. Bring a large zip lock bag and a paper plate with a plastic fork for everyone who will be eating. When everyone wakes up in the morning, boil a large pot of water on your outdoor gas grill and dice up all the peppers, mushrooms, onions and tomatoes. Then give everyone their own large zip lock bag and have them fill it with your scrambled eggs and bacon. Let them add what ever they want from the peppers, mushrooms, tomatoes and onions to their zip lock bag. Zip the bag shut and drop it into the boiling water for a few minutes. Take the bag out of the water are eat the eggs right out of the bag or put the contents of the bag on a paper plate and enjoy. The family will love it.
Add a bow to your hunting gear and learn the art of archery
After setting up your backpacking tent there are lots of things you can do depending on where you’ve decided to camp. For example, you might want to go biking. hiking, canoeing, fishing or hunting. If you haven’t tried it before, I suggest you try some archery. Add a bow to your hunting gear and do some bow Hunting for deer.
It takes a while to learn the art of archery and shooting an arrow at a deer. I suggest you start by getting a good bow like the one pictured and take some lessons on how to use it. The season for deer hunting with a bow is coming soon so now is a great time to add a new bow to your hunting gear and start practicing. I recommend you practice with the bow you will actually be using for hunting and use a bow with a 50-60 lb draw weight.
You will also want to make sure that the draw length is appropriate for you. To determine the appropriate draw length for you, make a fist with your bow hand and touch a wall, holding it out as if your are shooting your bow. Then have someone or measure from the wall to the corner of your mouth with a tape measure. The length you come up should be close to your actual draw length.
The draw length of different bows can vary from 28 to 36 inches. For this reason, arrows are available in different lengths from 31 to 40 inches. One does not want to take a 40 inch arrow and attempt to use it as a bow hunting arrow with a bow that only has a 28 inch draw because the arrow would not be positioned or balanced properly when fired.
You’ll also want to add some arrows to your hunting gear. When choosing arrows, you can use aluminum or carbon arrows. Carbon arrows will not bend but aluminum arrows can bend in some situations so I always recommend carbon arrows.
There is nothing worse than waking up in the morning in your family tent and having to put on wet shoes or no shoes at all. People simply don’t realize that dew forms on things in the morning and condensation falls on to things inside your family tent. One of the
things I always do before getting into my sleeping bag to sleep for the night is I choose what I am going to wear for clothes in the morning and stuff those clothes into the bottom of my sleeping bag. Putting a shirt, some pants and underwear and a pair of socks in the bottom of your sleeping bag will not only keep them warm but also keep them from getting wet. They will also be easily accessible in the morning or in case you need to get up and go to the rest room in the middle of the night. I also recommend you put your shoes on top of your cooler in you family tent and cover the shoes with a towel or shirt to keep them dry. Most famlies will have a large cooler with plenty of room for several pairs of shoes.
There are all kinds of outdoor gas grills but there is one grill the stand tall among all the rest. An outdoor gas grill that hunters dream about. A grill that you just gotta have at your hunting shack or cabin and a must at the deer camp. The Whitetail Classic Outdoor Gas Grill made by Teton.
There are lots of cool outdoor gas grills but this grill is more like a work of art… displaying an antler-style hood handle with a woodland backdrop, depicting 2 skittish whitetails. It even has a legendary 10-pt. buck skeleton head / rack on the swing-out door. If this Grill could speak, it would talk of freedom, camaraderie and the outdoor lifestyle. What’s for dinner?

We all enjoy sitting around the campfire in the evening and roasting marshmallows or telling stories with our family and friends. But sometimes there are not enough chairs for all the adults and children. At these times we find the kids sitting on the adults laps or
standing. And at other times we find the adults standing while the kids take their comfortable, folding camping chairs.
Believe it or not, there are folding camping chairs made just for kids and I highly suggest you get some before your next camping trip. Pacific Play Tents makes some really affordable and cute folding camping chairs for kids including the following:
- Earnest the Elephant
- Peter the Panda
- Larry the Lion
- Katie the Kitty
A homestead is any dwelling with its land and buildings where a family makes its home. I wouldn’t call a tent a dwelling and I wouldn’t want to use a tent as my home but I do appreciate family tents that are durable and can stand up to mother
nature for long periods of time.
The Homesteader Tent is a durable, sheltering Cabin-style Tent with loads of room and all the right features! It’s a big 11 x 11′ family tent, with 7’4″ center height and it sleeps up to 6 people comfortably. It looks a little old fashioned bu it has custom C-Tec™ fabric which is is super tough and reliably weather resistant. It also has UPF 15+ fabric protection and water-shedding polyurethane coating make it colorfast, long-wearing and waterproof . Family tents like this one are going to last a long, long time.
My father worked for the railroad for 43 years. He worked for the Great Northern railroad and then the Burlington Northern rail road. I spend quite a bit most of my childhood at the railroad yard and on the rail road tracks or riding choo choo trains. I’d sit in
the caboose or in the engine and pretend I was the engineer. I spent time with Casey Jones on track 11 and Round House Rodney. I went to Railroad picnics, parties and Christmas parties. Those were all very fond memories and I wouldn’t give them up for anything.
The railroad industry isn’t what it once was but everything associated with trains and the railroad is still fun for kids. Start your child out young and get a Choo Choo train tunnel tent. This tunnel tent looks like a train and kids can crawl inside the front to pretend they are an engineer. Or they can crawl into the back of the tunnel tent and pretend they are the caboose attendant. And if they want, they can crawl into the middle of the tunnel tent and pretend to be a passenger.
If price is very important to you then you will love the dome tents. Dome tents are generally less expensive than the outdoor event tents and tent trailers. The gaps are in the hundreds of dollars. Using dome tents is a great way to travel light and protect yourself in the campsite. Carrying heavy loads from one place to another isn’t necessarily the fun part of camping. If you are going camping
for only a few days then the dome tent or family dome tent is a perfect product for you. It is light and it can get the job done. On the other hand, if you are going to be camping out for a longer period of time you should probably get one of those larger wall tents. Family dome tents are large which is what you will need if you are going to be camping out for a long time because living in a tiny dome tent will not be so much fun for three to four months of camping. The dome tents are better off for camping in the short spans of time. Use the dome tents accordingly. Camping is so much fun. If you have not gone camping then you should try it out as soon as you can. Ask your friends if they want to join you in your camping adventure. Bring several dome camping tents on your next trip. Ask your family if they are interested in being part of your camp out.
There are a number of major benefits to a dome tent. Because dome tents have no corners, they do better in windy conditions. Dome tents are basically tents that look like domes. You may be wondering, what makes these dome tents so special anyway? Dome
tents can be pitched in any orientation to the wind since the shape relative to the wind is always the same. A dome tent weights
more than other tents but provides more living space too. Many family dome tents can accommodate up to 6 people easily. One of the things that sets these dome tents apart from the rest is its sleek design. When you put up a dome tent, there will be a peak on top of the tent. The fabric of a dome tent will not go downwards directly but in a curvature. The curvature gives more space to the tent. There will be more volume in the tent with this kind of design. Another thing that sets dome tents apart from the rest is the weight. When you have a dome tent, it is usually lighter than all the other tents. When a tent is lighter, you will have a lesser hassle carrying it around. You will also be safer since you will not worry about the weight straining your back. You will not worry about any of your muscles or your joints getting strained during your transit to the camp site. Some small dome tents also have a dual personality i.e. they can serve as a dome tent and a backpacking tent.
